Professional & Work Experience
2021 - Present
Museum Tour Guide & Associate,
Agecroft Hall & Gardens
As a part-time tour guide at Agecroft Hall, I am responsible for introducing guests to the context of the historic Tudor-era building and its twentieth-century history while facilitating a positive and educational visitor experience. I also work the register in the gift shop and at the front desk, answer phones, and enter visitor information into Altru (Blackbaud) as needed.
Jun 2022 - Dec 2022
Historic Trades Intern - Bindery, Colonial Williamsburg Foundation
As a historic trades intern at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, I learned the trade of eighteenth-century bookbinding and interpreting it to visitors. I also developed possible interpretive plans for both the trade shop and my own interpretation, and assisted in prepping and running the shop's weekly summer workshop series on making stitch-books, pamphlets, and decorative paste paper.
Feb 2022 - Jul 2022
Student Thought Partner,
Bray School Lab
While working with the Bray Lab, I took part in researching, writing, and designing a “Story Map” (Adam and Fanny’s World) as a means of introducing the public to the children who went to the Bray School and making the Lab’s research digitally accessible. I also wrote a forthcoming blog post on the process of making the Story Map and the role of public history in projects such as this one.
